About the Council Stipend Scheme

The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) provides annual stipends to deserving Scheduled Tribe (Hills) students pursuing professional higher education to reduce financial barriers and promote academic excellence.

Professional Courses

Covers Engineering, MBBS, BDS, Nursing, Agriculture, MBA, MCA, ITI, Polytechnic, and other recognized technical programs.

Direct Benefit Transfer

Stipend amount is credited directly into the verified bank account of selected students through transparent Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

Inclusive Opportunity

Designed specifically to benefit permanent residents belonging to ST (Hills) residing within the KAAC jurisdiction.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following mandatory criteria laid down by the Department of Higher & Technical Education, KAAC.

The candidate must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (Hills) category of Karbi Anglong / West Karbi Anglong District.

Resident Certification

Must be a permanent resident of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council jurisdiction area.

Enrolled in Professional Course

Must be pursuing a regular full-time professional or technical degree/diploma course in a Govt recognized institute.

Bank Account details

Applicant must possess an active savings bank account linked with their Aadhaar card.
